The purpose of this newsletter is to celebrate the outstanding work that our students and staff are doing in each of our schools, provide district-level updates, and notify you about important upcoming events.
Bolivar Schools Recognized with Best of Southwest Missouri Awards
We are so proud to announce that three of our Bolivar schools have been honored in the "Best of Southwest Missouri" rankings! A huge congratulations to Bolivar Middle School for bringing home Gold, our Early Childhood Learning Center for earning Silver, and Bolivar Primary School for taking home Bronze! These awards are a beautiful reflection of the hard work, passion, and daily dedication of our students, teachers, and staff. Thank you to our amazing community for your continued support as we strive for excellence in every classroom!
The Bolivar School District and the Ozarks Regional YMCA are pleased to announce that we will be offering Y-Academy after-school childcare when school begins in August. Information about the YMCA program is below.
Things to know:
The program runs from after school until 6:00 PM, only when school is in session. We do not offer care for early release due to inclement weather, with the exception of early release Fridays.
Students in grades K-5 are eligible to register. The program will be held at Bolivar Primary School, and BIS students will be bused over after school. Tuition is due semimonthly, from September 1st to May 1st. We do not pro-rate for missed days or absences. A 2-week email notification is required for any account adjustments. Tuition is $92.00 with a YMCA Family Membership, $112 without a YMCA Family Membership. - We accept state subsidy

Bolivar High School Hall of Fame Nominations Open
Nominations are being accepted for the Bolivar High School Hall of Fame! The deadline to enter a nomination is July 10th.
Here are the criteria:
-Must be a graduate of Bolivar High School (or at least must have attended two years. Prior to advanced placement or dual enrollment in college, some students left high school after three years to attend college.)
-Must have a record of significant and consistent professional and personal achievement. Achievement may be in a variety of fields and may include volunteer activities.
-Should demonstrate a commitment to community involvement.
-Should demonstrate involvement with family and/or volunteer organizations.
-Nominations should include a letter or letters of support as well as documents of support such as resumes, newspaper articles, pictures, etc. Nominations are encouraged from BHS alumni, family, friends, or professional colleagues.
-Nominations must include the nominee's name, address, phone number, and the year of graduation/or years the nominee attended BHS in addition to the name, address, and phone number of the person making the nomination.

Gervais and Lee Named Top Two Academic Achievers
Congratulations to Cole Gervais and Austin Lee for being named the top two academic achievers for the Bolivar High School Class of 2026! Gervais finished with a 4.32 weighted GPA, and Lee finished with a 4.28 weighted GPA. In recognition of their exceptional academic achievements, each will receive a $2,500 scholarship from the Bolivar Educational Advancement Foundation!

BMS Fieldhouse Parking Lot Construction
A major repair of the BMS Fieldhouse parking lot is underway! Crews are currently doing ground repair before repaving the parking lot to a smooth finish. The project will be completed by the beginning of school in August.  8th Grade Celebration
Our 8th graders celebrated their last day at BMS with a party at the Bolivar Recreation and Aquatic Center!
