Starting on Monday, February 8, we will be looking high and low for the kindest student in each grade and one staff member here at BIS. All students, teachers, and staff members are being asked to catch someone doing an "act of kindness". When they catch someone, they are asked to fill out a form located in the foyer and placed in our "KINDNESS is CONTAGIOUS" box. The winner for that week will be announced the following week. This week will be a spirit week, so we will have dress up days each day. The schedule is listed at right. Have fun, and remember kindness is contagious. Pass it on!
Spirit Week Feb 8-11
Monday: Hats off to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society! Wear your favorite hat.
Tuesday: Sock it to cancer! Wear Crazy socks.
Wednesday: Helping others is totally cool! Wear your favorite sunglasses.
Thursday: As a team, we can help fight cancer. Wear your favorite team’s shirt.
The Bolivar Intermediate School Student Council is sponsoring the annual “Pennies for Patients” drive, throughout the month of February.
Students haven been given a box to collect their change. The third grade students will watch the video, “Why Charlie Brown, Why?” which depicts a young girl who is diagnosed with Leukemia. Fourth and Fifth Grade students will be shown Leukemia & Lymphoma society’s Student Series: Learning to make someday today. We will then discuss the importance of helping others in need, which kicks off our “Kindness is Contagious” week the following week. If you would like more information about the penny drive, you may contact Ms. Watson, BIS Counselor.
